"Fill my heart with song and let me sing forevermore
You are all I long for all I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you"
Lets set the tone - Frank Sinatra is playing and Sophia & David are doing their first dance to "Fly Me to the Moon" time is frozen. One of my most favorite part of weddings. This one was for the books.
I met David through work (my full time 9-5 job) he mentioned to me that he was in the midst of planning of a wedding and of course, I let him know if he ever needs my help to let me know! Fast forward a few months later we were at a coffee shop talking about their wedding and they ended up giving me the privilege of coordinating their wedding!
One thing I really loved about Sophia & David's wedding was that they were really intentional about having less waste after their wedding. They had leaves from their florist, Alicia's Florals that she repurposed to use as name place cards for their guests, Sophia's dress was from Bride's for a Cause (If you aren't familiar, they are a non profit organization that resells wedding dresses to raise funds for charity) They also donated their flowers from their centerpieces to the Salvation Army Rotary Hospice.
Now lets talk about the big day. The day of, I arrived early to start set up. My main focus was getting their backdrop up for their sweetheart table. Now, this is where it went slightly downhill - I got the frame, curtain, fairly lights up now it was time to plug it all in. Guess what..it wasn't turning on. Mind you, I did test out the lights before I set everything up and it did work. I was confused - why wasn't it turning on? Finally I discovered the tiniest hole in the wire. I managed to finesse the wire a bit and voila! It turned on!
Next concern was the weather. We of course had a back up of having the ceremony inside we even did rehearsal inside a few days prior just in case. I also knew, how much Sophia & David really wanted to have the ceremony outside (I mean, if you've ever been to Stanley Park Pavillion - could you blame them?) I had until 2:30 to decide on where to have the ceremony and the weather was playing tricks on me all day. It wasn't pouring, but it was I would call "misty" all day. There was a clean break for about 40 mins, and my gut just told me to go for it. Decision was made (not to mention I pushed the call at around 3:30 - as I wanted to be certain) and of course, the second they started setting up chairs outside it started raining - Now the guests were arriving. Did I question my decision? I would be lying to you if I said I did. However, my gut just told me to trust the process. We found a ton of leftover umbrellas, I ensured the guests we had enough for everyone and sure enough, right before Sophia walked down it cleared! It couldn't have been more meant to be. It was the most perfect Raincover Wedding and I walked away with this day thanking my gut and promised myself I wouldn't ever doubt it again.
I left Sophia & David's wedding on a HIGH. It was the type of wedding where you could just feel the love all night. Not just from the couple, but from just everyone around. It was simply contagious!
This was an incredible day that I absolutely loved reliving through this blog post. Keep scrolling as I will post some more photos of Sophia & David's wedding! (All taken by the super talented Jalen Laine Photography)

The custom suit I got from Sam's Menswear looked amazing and incredibly comfortable. I danced the night away without feeling restricted, which was a huge plus on our wedding day.
